How long have you been doing what you do, and how did you become a Mindset Mentor and a Transformational Coach?
To answer this question, it’s probably best that I share with you a defining moment, and resulting “compelling story”, that brought me to where I am today – coaching women like you (and some likeminded men) on exactly what to do to shift your mindset, increase your confidence, and learn to love and accept yourself entirely and completely.
Although I had a very bubbly and outgoing personality, I was plagued by anxiety and depressive feelings as a teenager and as a young adult. Despite taking positive steps to deal with this and having great support, I couldn’t get to the bottom of why I was feeling like this. Sure, just like everyone else, I had my share of difficult experiences. But there were lots of things going for me, so why was I so upset all the time?
While looking for an answer for this question, I initiated a personal quest for happiness, better health, and spiritual awakening. I discovered Crystal Healing and Reiki and started training in February 2005. This helped me rebalance myself and alleviated some of the physical discomforts I was experiencing. I trained at the Master level to offer treatments but also to teach and empower others to heal themselves through these modalities.
This was the beginning of my journey as a therapist: it helped me connect with emotional wellness and gave me great hopes for the future. But I still felt negative at times and soon realised if I didn’t change what was causing the imbalances in my life, I would never heal fully and find the freedom I was seeking.
It became very clear the main culprit was my mindset, so I looked to other techniques such as Self-Hypnosis, Mindfulness Meditation and NLP which were of great help to silence the inner critic and discipline the mind. And even with all that, I was still getting triggered by way too many things.
That defining moment in my life happened in 2011 when I had a horrible, near death accident at a bonfire. I sustained severe burns to my left hand and lesser ones to my back and legs. I couldn’t work for a year while I underwent five different operations. This was a very low point for me emotionally and spiritually. But through it all, I kept on thinking positive and visualised myself out of there doing the things I loved – trekking some other mountains or funky places.
During that time, a friend of mine mentioned Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) in relation to the fear of flying and suggested it could help me cope with what happened to me. After further research and tapping along several YouTube videos, I decided to train with Karl Dawson in June 2012 to further develop my skills. What I love most about EFT is that it’s a simple and effective technique to learn. It’s not just a positive way of safely releasing negative emotions, it’s also especially with Matrix Re-imprinting great for releasing past traumas and making peace with the past. I also trained as a Hypnotherapist as it is a great way to access the subconscious mind and retrain it to modify our way of thinking and behaviours to achieve great success and disconnect from the pain. I used these techniques myself to let go of the shame and emotional pain connected to my accident.
I cleaned up my past and started teaching women how they can do the same. I have since made a commitment to dedicate the rest of my professional life to helping other women breakthrough your inner blocks, release your limitations, and reconnect with who you are – flaws and all.
Since then, I’ve worked with many private clients, spoken in front of countless groups: I am working toward my dream of starting a family while I travel with my online business to spiritual places all over the world.
